As you may know, for the past five years NextStep has been the only resource for Lane County residents to recycle their block foam (EPS foam or, commonly called Styrofoam). In August, we stopped taking the material because it was no longer financially feasible for us to handle this material. Community members have been understanding but really hoped we could find another solution.

Well, it's here! Our recycling pals over at St Vincent De Pauls are now taking block foam from the public-residents and business alike! Woo hoo!

Currently we have 3 Facebook fan pages. One general fan page coving all aspects of NextStep. The other two fan pages are for each of our ReUse stores, Eugene and Springfield. While this seemed initially like a good idea, we have decided we will combine these back to one fan page that will combine all aspects of NextStep—training, education, recycling, refurbishing, and our Reuse Stores. Watch for your invitation to join the final fan page, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Woo wee. We're excited to hear what our community has to say about the Eugene Weekly Best of Eugene Awards tonight! Join us at the Eugene Weekly Best of Eugene Awards Show at 7:30 pm at the McDonald Theatre. Tickets are $10 at EW or through TicketsWest, and benefit White Bird Clinic. NextStep is one of three runner's up for the Best Eugene Green Business. Who's gonna be chosen?

There will be music and festivities. It should be super fun! Hope to see you there.
