Oregon E-Cycles is a 2009 statewide program, financed by manufacturers, that provides responsible recycling of computers, monitors and TVs. After Jan. 1, 2010, anyone bringing seven or fewer items at a time may recycle their electronics at no charge at participating collection sites. Oregon E-Cycles does NOT provide free recycling of other electronic devices.

The Lane County Commissioners Trashbuster Awards were presented to recipients on November 10th in anticipation of National America Recycles Day (November 15). Selected were local community members, organizations and businesses that put their efforts toward reducing or preventing waste in our community.

At NextStep we try our best to offer as many opportunities as possible. We have a variety of training programs, offer education in a variety of community settings, and try to stock our store with a variety of hardware. Variety is what we are all about!

We continue to offer Windows XP and Mac operating systems on our computer builds. We have built Linux systems in the past, but, they have not been as popular.

I got a call from a local business owner asking my thoughts on buying new equipment so they can upgrade to Windows 7. I asked him what type of hardware his office is using.

Turns out, there is no need for him to go out and buy new - he just needs to do a bit of refurbishing for the hardware he already has and he'll be good to go for a long while with Windows XP. We helped him make these changes and we can help you too.
